Nele Spruytte obtained a Phd in Psychology and studied the relationship quality between partners of persons with dementia. She has three years of experience as director of a small nursing home, and returned to research since 2006. She is a member of the informal network group ‘small-scale normalized living for older persons with dementia’, the working group ‘early onset dementia Flanders’, of the LIND-network (KU Leuven) and of the European INTERDEM-network. Her main research topics are housing and care for older persons, psychosocial support for persons with dementia, collaboration with informal caregivers and quality management. As a research manager of the team ‘care for the older persons’ at LUCAS she guides junior researchers and accomplishes research projects.
